Terms of use
Last updated: 31 October 2026
These are the rules for using FaveIQ. By playing, you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use FaveIQ. How we use your data is on the Privacy page.
Who runs FaveIQ
FaveIQ is run by Emmanuel Ukpaka. You can get in touch at team@faveiq.com.
Who can play
- FaveIQ is for people aged 18 or over. You confirm this with one tap before you play.
- You can play the Fan Five as a guest without signing up. An account keeps your streak, scores and fanbase across devices.
- One account per person, please.
Your account and username
- You sign in with a code we email you, so keep your email account safe. You're responsible for what happens on your account.
- Your username is public. Don't use your real name, and don't pick anything offensive or hateful, anything that pretends to be an artist or another person, or an advert. We can reset a username that breaks these rules, and you'll be asked to choose a new one.
Playing fair
Scores, leaderboards and Fanbase Wars only mean something if everyone plays fair. So please don't:
- use bots, scripts or anything else that answers for you;
- use extra accounts to lift your own scores or your fanbase, or to drag another one down;
- use a bug to get points you didn't earn (tell us about it instead).
If something looks wrong, we may keep an account off the leaderboards while we check it, remove points, or suspend the account. We look at each case before we decide.
Questions and facts
- Every question is built from facts with sources, and every answer shows its source. We work hard to get them right, but mistakes can happen. If you spot one, tap “Report a problem” after you answer.
- We may fix, change or remove a question at any time. If a Fan Five question turns out to be wrong on the day, we may remove it, and that day's scores then count the remaining questions.
- Fan IQ, Culture IQ, levels, streaks and ranks are for fun. They aren't official ratings of anyone.
Leaderboards, seasons and prizes
Leaderboards, seasons and Fanbase Wars are for bragging rights. There are no prizes unless we announce one, with its own rules. We may correct or recalculate standings if something went wrong.
Sharing
Share cards and links you make can be seen by anyone who has the link. Only share what you're happy for others to see, and never share someone else's personal details.
Artists, labels and charts
Not affiliated with or endorsed by any artist, label or chart.
We use the names of artists, songs, albums, charts and awards only to say who and what a fact is about. Those names and marks belong to their owners. We don't publish lyrics or artist photos.
Our content
The FaveIQ app, its design, its questions and its code belong to FaveIQ. You're welcome to play and to share your own results, but please don't copy our questions in bulk, scrape the site or build a product from them.
Changes, and keeping it running
- FaveIQ is free. We may add, change, pause or stop any part of it.
- We may update these terms. When we do, we change the date at the top, and we'll tell you in the app if a change matters to how you play.
Our responsibility to you
We provide FaveIQ as it is, and we can't promise it will always be available or free of mistakes. As far as the law allows, we aren't responsible for losses that come from using it. Nothing in these terms limits our responsibility for anything the law doesn't let us limit, such as death or personal injury caused by negligence, or fraud, and nothing here affects your legal rights as a consumer.
Leaving
You can delete your account at any time in Settings. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms.
The law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and disputes go to the courts of England and Wales. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you can also bring a claim in your local courts.
